Australian Consumer Law

Our voluntary warranties are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). They do not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available under the ACL.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Voluntary Warranty Periods

Moora Mattress Series - 10-Year Limited Warranty

All Moora mattress series products are supplied with a 10-year limited warranty against covered manufacturing and structural defects. This includes the Moora Balance, Comfort, Firmcore and Elite mattress ranges. The warranty starts on the date of delivery or customer collection, whichever occurs first.

Other Furniture and Lighting - 12-Month Limited Warranty

Unless a longer written warranty is stated on the relevant product page or at purchase, our other furniture and lighting products are supplied with a 12-month limited warranty against covered manufacturing and material defects. The warranty starts on the date of delivery or customer collection, whichever occurs first.

Your ACL rights may continue beyond any voluntary warranty period and depend on the circumstances, including the nature and expected durability of the goods.

What the Voluntary Warranty Covers

For furniture and lighting, the voluntary warranty covers manufacturing or material defects such as structural failure, defective components and faults in workmanship, subject to assessment.

For mattresses, covered structural or manufacturing defects include:
- permanent body impressions or sagging exceeding 30 mm, measured without weight applied using a straight edge across the mattress surface;
- broken springs or internal support structures; and
- manufacturing faults affecting structural integrity.

What the Voluntary Warranty Does Not Cover

Subject always to your ACL rights, the voluntary warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and tear, natural softening or comfort preference;
- mattress settlement or body impressions less than 30 mm;
- staining, soiling, burns, tears, moisture damage or damage caused after delivery;
- misuse, neglect, improper care, commercial or rental use;
- damage during customer transport;
- improper assembly, modification or failure to follow care instructions;
- mattress damage caused by an unsuitable or unsupported bed base; or
- natural variations in colour, grain, texture, finish or minor dimension variations that are not defects.

Items sold as seconds, ex-display, floor stock or clearance with a specifically disclosed defect are not covered for that disclosed defect, but ACL rights continue to apply to undisclosed faults and other applicable consumer guarantees.

Making a Warranty or ACL Claim

To make a claim, contact info@moorafurniture.com.au and provide your name, order number or other proof of purchase, a description of the issue and, where reasonably available, clear photos or video. We may reasonably inspect or request further information to assess the claim.

You do not need original packaging to pursue a remedy for faulty goods under the ACL. For a claim solely under our voluntary warranty, retaining packaging where practical can assist safe transport but does not remove any ACL rights.

Remedies and Costs for Faulty Goods

For a major failure under the ACL, you may choose a refund or replacement and may be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that is not major, we will provide an appropriate remedy within a reasonable time as required by the ACL, which may include repair or replacement.

For faulty goods that are large, heavy or difficult to remove or transport, including beds, mattresses, sofas and dining tables, we will arrange collection or pay reasonable return transportation costs where required under the ACL. If a confirmed faulty item has been returned at your reasonable cost, we will reimburse that reasonable cost as required by law.

Change of Mind

Please choose carefully. We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds for change of mind, incorrect selection, colour preference or access/fit issues. Please check product dimensions and delivery access before placing an order.

This change-of-mind policy does not apply where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, not as described or otherwise fail to meet a consumer guarantee under the ACL.
